Kona Airport (IATA: KOA; ICAO: PHKO, FAA LID: KOA), officially named Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, is the main international airport serving the island of Hawaii, in United States. 


KOA Airport is located in the town of Keahole, at the west of the island, 15 km (7 miles) northwest from Kona city centre. It is a hub for Mokulele Airlines. Kona Airport isn’t built as a normal airport, since it consists of little open-air terminals. Top 10 domestic routes from KOA Airport are Honolulu,Seattle, San Francisco Los Angeles, Kahului, Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Oakland and San Jose.

Kona Airport handled 4,058,749 passengers in 2019.

During 2020, due to coronavirus crisis, the Airport only handled 1,334,916 passengers. 

KOA Airport registered almost 3 million passengers during 2021.
